Roshan Rzaev told Latvian deputies about returning to Karabakh

Chairman of the State Committee on Refugees and Forced Migrants Rzrovan Rzayev met with the delegation of the Seimas of Latvia, headed by the head of the Promotion of Cooperation with the Azerbaijani Parliament, Nudinsh.

Informing guests about the main areas of state policy carried out under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev in the field of working with refugees and internally displaced persons, the Chairman of the State Committee noted that special attention is constantly paid to solving their social problems, the necessary measures to improve housing conditions continue , improving employment opportunities. It was emphasized sensitive and caring attitude to these issues of the first vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva.

It was noted that Azerbaijan restored its territorial integrity as a result of the 44-day Patriotic War. Currently, work is underway to clean the liberated territories from mines and shells, it begins to restore destroyed cities and villages, the creation of infrastructure. It was decided to give preference to the projects “Smart Village”, “Smart City”. The absolute majority of internally displaced persons who left their native land, intend to return to a permanent place of residence. The return process that will be carried out on the principle of voluntary will begin after ensuring security and decent living conditions in these areas.

Rzshan Rzaev noted that the appeals were made to provide pressure on Armenia in order to provide a map of mined territories. According to him, the refusal to issue a card leads to a delay in the return process, as well as to the loss of the lives of citizens who carry out official debt working in these territories, including some of the internally displaced persons who are in a hurry to return home. It was noted that two journalists and one civil servant died a few days ago in the performance of their official duties on the territory of the Kelbajar region as a result of the explosion of mines, once laid by the Armenian side. All three are children of families who left their homeland as a result of ethnic discrimination and occupation policy of Armenia.

Head of the Cooperation Collaboration Group of the Seimas of Latvia with the Azerbaijani Parliament Roman Nudinsh expressed satisfaction with the visit. He noted that Latvia has always demonstrated support for Azerbaijan.
