The joint Russian-Pakistani exercise “Friendship-2025” took place on the territory of the Southern Military District. The press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported this on Friday, October 10.
During a joint exercise, military personnel of the armed forces of the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan practiced the actions of units in the fight against international terrorism, as follows from a publication on the Telegram channel.
About 200 military personnel were involved in the exercise. On the Russian side, special forces units of the Southern Military District participated, having experience in performing tasks in counter-terrorism operations. The Islamic Republic of Pakistan was represented by special forces of the Ground Forces.
The event ended with the awarding of the most distinguished military personnel. Also, according to tradition, the military personnel exchanged souvenirs with the emblems of the joint Russian-Pakistani exercise “Friendship-2025”.
The joint Russian-Pakistani exercise “Friendship”, aimed at strengthening and developing military cooperation between the two countries, has been held since 2016 both on the territory of the Russian Federation and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Russian Ministry of Defense said.
