Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov announced the need to turn the supply of weapons to Kyiv during a temporary truce. The Kremlin representative said this in an interview with ABC News.
“If we are talking about the ceasefire, what will we do with the supply of weapons daily coming from the United States and European countries?” – asked a question Peskov.
He noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin supported the ceasefire and “does everything possible to solve the problem, to achieve settlement with peaceful and diplomatic means”, but, without peaceful and diplomatic funds, Russia is forced to continue the “special military operation”.
According to Peskov, Russia wants to end the supply of weapons, otherwise it will give Kyiv an advantage and allow you to continue mobilization.
“Ukraine will continue total mobilization, transferring new troops to the front,” Peskov believes.
According to the representative of the Kremlin, US mediation “will help to bring a little more flexibility, a little more political will and wisdom to the Kyiv regime.”
Kyiv is not ready for “immediate negotiations,” said the Kremlin representative.
Earlier, on April 28, the President of the Russian Federation declared a truce on the days of the 80th anniversary of Victory. It acts from zero hours from May 7 to 8 to midnight from May 10 to 11. This period provides for the suspension of all hostilities.
In turn, the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky rejected the proposal of Moscow, saying that the ceasefire should be unconditional and at least 30 days.
