Russia Announced Their Readiness To Discuss With United States Their Presence At ZAES

The head of the Rosatom State Corporation Alexei Likhachev said that Russia is ready to discuss with the United States their presence at the Zaporizhzhya NPP (ZAES) as part of the Ukrainian settlement.

“If a political decision is made by the country’s leadership, we are ready to discuss this with the American side,” Likhachev answered the corresponding question of “Interfax” on Wednesday.

Last Monday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Moscow did not receive proposals from Washington regarding the further fate of the ZAES and its possible joint management of the United States and Ukraine.

“No, we did not receive such an offer, and if we receive, we will explain that the Office of the Zaporizhzhya NPP is under the jurisdiction of the Russian State Corporation” Rosatom “, under the supervision of the IAEA personnel, which is constantly present on the site and monitors,” Lavrov said in an interview with CBS.

Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plants is the largest nuclear station in Europe.

Earlier, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said that the fate of ZAES was discussed with Washington. Currently, the station is controlled by Russian forces.
