Russia appointed a new mayor and governor in Kherson

The new mayor of the Kherson’s Russian armed forces was appointed deputy of the city council Alexander Kobets, former mayor Igor Kolykhaev was dismissed, RIA Novosti reports.

Kherson region was headed by Vladimir Saldo, who led the city by the city.

“Alexander Kobets became the new head of Kherson, the former mayor Kolykhaev did not want to cooperate. Vladimir Saldo will lead the area,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

According to sources, Kobets was born in Kherson in 1959, before the collapse of the USSR he served in the KGB, then continued to serve in the SBU, from where he retired in 2010. Saldo was the mayor of Kherson from 2002 to 2012, when he elected to Rada from the Party of Regions, headed by the ex-president of the country Viktor Yanukovych.
