Russia blocked UN Grain Corridor statement

Russia blocked the statement of the UN Security Council in support of the grain corridor. The Russian side did not like the mention of criticism of the Russian Rocket Book on the port of Odessa, writes Associated Press with reference to sources.

The constant representative of Norway at the UN Mona Yuul said that the Council countries tried to achieve a single position on the request for several days. The initial text of the document contained a call to the parties to strictly fulfill all obligations within the framework of the “grain agreement”. “Such efforts are very important against the background of the ongoing war and its negative impact on the people of Ukraine,” Yuul emphasized.

However, according to the Diplomats from the UN Security Council, the names of which are not reported, Russia opposed this statement due to the inclusion in its text mentioning the condemnation of the UN Secretary General of the missile strike on July 23 on the shop of Odessa.
