“Russia brought invasion of Ukraine to a new level”: European Union announced new sanctions

The EU authorities proposed a new package of sanctions against Russia.

Meduza reports that the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Layen, speaking at a press conference, said that “Russia brought the invasion of Ukraine to a new level. And we are determined to force the Kremlin to pay the price for this further escalation”.

According to her, it is proposed to be limited to trading in the framework of the next package by prohibiting the import of Russian products for seven billion euros; expand the list of goods prohibited in the Russian Federation in the Russian Federation in the field of aviation and electronic components, chemicals; prohibit citizens of the EU to be part of the governing bodies of Russian state -owned companies; develop a legal framework for the introduction of a ceiling of Russian oil prices; impose sanctions against persons who will circumvent restrictions against Russia.
