Special Representative of the President of Russia in the Middle East and the countries of Africa, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Bogdanov held talks with a member of the Politburo of the People’s Front of the Liberation of Palestine Maher Taherom, during which he stressed the need for an immediate cessation of any hostilities in the Gaza Strip.
“From the Russian side, the need for an immediate cessation of any fighting and preventing the further degradation of the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said reports.
In addition, the Russian side noted the importance of enhancing the consolidated efforts of the participants of the Middle Eastern Quartet of international mediators to establish Palestinian-Israeli negotiations on a well-known international legal basis.
