Russia requested an urgent meeting of UN Security Council

Russia requested an urgent meeting of the UN Security Council on August 23 in connection with the ongoing Ukrainian provocations “around the Zaporizhzhya NPP” (ZAES). The first deputy representative of the Russian Federation during the organization Dmitry Polyansky reported this on Monday in his Telegram channel.

“asked the UN Secretary General Antoniu Guterrisha. The meeting is scheduled for 22:00 Moscow time on August 23,” said Polyansky.

Polyansky added that “the next day … another meeting in Ukraine will be held, which was requested by Western states … Surely it will not do without Ukrainian topics and today at a meeting of [security council] on international security.”
