Russia sent nuclear submarines to banks of USA and Canada

After a short pause, Russia again began to send bombers and submarines to the shores of Canada and the USA. It is reported by Global News.

According to the deputy head of the Aerospace Defense Command of North America (NORAD) Alena Pelletier, in this way Russia seeks to demonstrate its ability to strike on Canada and the United States.

“This year we are observing the reduction (the number of Russian bombers in the airspace of North America – Ed.), Especially after the illegal invasion of Russia to Ukraine on February 24th. However, some of these actions have now resumed,” he told the committee of the American Senate on defense.

Alain Pelletier claims that Moscow sends submarines from both the Atlantic and Pacific coast, “in order to demonstrate its strategic capabilities and create a threat to North America.”

He did not explain exactly what maneuvers Russian ships and planes make. However, in October, Norad representatives spoke about the interception of two Russian long -range bombers, approaching Alaska. Aircraft did not manage to enter the airspace of North America.

Canada and the United States began work on the modernization of the first line of defense of North America from a foreign attack from Norad. They plan to update the radars of the 1980s in the north of Canada for more modern systems with a larger area of action.
