Russia: students from Uzbekistan were summoned for conversation with security forces

Students from Uzbekistan, students at the Russian Pskov State University, recorded a video message to their President Shavkat Mirziyoyev with a request to transfer them to their homeland. After that they were invited to a meeting with Russian law enforcement officers, Russian Telegram channels report.

In the video, a group of students addresses the head of Uzbekistan and talk about an unstable situation in Russia.

“The unstable situation, which is becoming more and more serious day by day, bothers us and our parents,” the young people said. After publication on social networks, students were invited to one of the university buildings to meet with representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “on the political situation in the country.” The meeting was called “with hatred and xenophobia we are not on the way.”

Emigrants from Central Asia had previously reported how their situation in Russia worsened after the start of the war with Ukraine and the declaration of mobilization. Many of them decided to leave the country.
