Russia suspected in desire to restore USSR

Sending Russian troops to Kazakhstan within the CSTO has become a clear wave signal. According to the reviewers of The Wall Street Journal, this decision has shown that Moscow will not tolerate the threats of its “unshakable sphere of influence” in the post-Soviet space.

From the point of view of newspaper Observers, Russia for the last 15 years in every way trying to reinstate their hegemony in the region, and the determination of the Russian leader Vladimir Putin to do this in this case is based on his confidence that the collapse of the Soviet Union has become a “large geopolitical catastrophe” .

According to the publication reviewers, Moscow interferes with the affairs of Georgia, Belarus, Ukraine, and now Kazakhstan, to bring these states to themselves and suppress dissent associated with the turn towards the West.

Earlier, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken stated that Vladimir Putin wants to restore the scope of influence on countries that were previously part of the USSR.
