Russia: Tests Of New Laser Systems For Counteracting Drones Were Tested

In the Russian Federation, large tests of promising laser systems intended to combat unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) have completed. This was reported by the press service of the Russian government.

“The main goal of the tests was a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of the latest laser systems in conditions as close as possible to real. During the testing, the accuracy of the guidance, the range of defeat, the speed of the reaction of the complexes to moving air targets, as well as their resistance to various weather conditions were checked,” the report said.

Testing was organized by representatives of the Military-Industrial College (VPK) together with the Ministry of Industry and Trade at a specialized training ground with the participation of Rostec and Rosatom corporations.

It is noted that the first deputy chairman of the government Denis Manturov took part in the tests.

“The trials were attended by eight controls of UAVs of various capacities – from compact mobile installations to stationary high -power systems, which allowed to obtain the most complete data on the possibilities of modern laser technologies in the fight against unmanned threats. A specialized landfill equipped with modern measuring equipment was worked out by counterattacks of various types of anti From small-sized commercial drones to more complex devices imitating reconnaissance and shock drones, ”the message says.
