Russia: vodka, brandy and cognac will rise in price

In Russia, from January 1, 2023, the minimum prices for vodka, brandy and cognac will increase, Interfax reports with reference to the order of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.

The minimum retail price of vodka will be 281 rubles per 0.5 liters, brandy – 375 rubles, cognac – 517 rubles per 0.5 liters.

For comparison: at present, the minimum retail price of vodka is 261 rubles per 0.5 liters, brandy – 348 rubles, cognac – 480 rubles.

The minimum selling price for brandy rises from 270 to 289 rubles per 0.5 liters, wholesale – from 284 to 304 rubles, for cognac – respectively vacation from 371 to 397 rubles, wholesale – from 391 to 419 rubles.

The minimum vacation price for vodka for manufacturers from 2023 will be 229 rubles (214 rubles at present), wholesale – 238 rubles (222 rubles) for 0.5 liters.

The order will be valid on December 31, 2026.

The minimum vodka prices in Russia have been set since 2009 as a measure to combat shadow production. Since 2011, minimal cognac prices have been introduced, since 2016 – for champagne.
