Rosatom and the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for atomic energy approved a road map for the construction of a nuclear power plant. This is stated in the press service of the Agency of the Republic of Atomic Energy.

It is noted that additionally between Kazakhstani Atomic Electric Stations LLP and Atomstroyxport (the engineering division of the Rosatom State Corporation) signed a framework agreement that determines the key principles for the project to implement the project in the Zhambyl district of the Almaty region.
The project is implemented in the framework of interstate cooperation in the field of peaceful use of atomic energy and is aimed at achieving strategic tasks to ensure energy safety and decarbonization of the economy of Kazakhstan. The parties emphasize the importance of the speedy beginning of the implementation of the strategic project for Kazakhstan, the report said.
