Russian Federation And Ukraine, Within Framework Of Istanbul Agreements, Exchanged Bodies Of Dead Military

Russia, in the framework of Istanbul agreements, handed over to Ukraine 1212 bodies of soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Armed Forces) and returned 27 dead military. This was stated by the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Medinsky.

“The transfer of the bodies of the dead soldiers began in accordance with Istanbul agreements. The Ukrainian side we handed over 1212 bodies of the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces. We were returned to 27 dead fighters of the RF Armed Forces,” Medinsky said.

According to him, on June 12, urgent “sanitary exchanges” will also begin with seriously wounded prisoners from the front line.

“The work will continue all these days,” said the assistant to the President of the Russian Federation.

Meanwhile, the coordination headquarters of Ukraine on the issues of processing prisoners of war reported that the bodies of 1212 dead military were returned to Ukraine.

The headquarters noted that among the returned people who died in the Kursk, Kharkov, Lugansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhya and Kherson regions.

The bodies of the dead were able to return the coordination staff on the results of the joint work of the processing staff of prisoners of war, the SBU, the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the office of the authorized vehicle on the rights of man, the secretariat of the authorized persons missing under special circumstances, the State Emergencies Service, and other structures of the Security and Defense sector of Ukraine, according to the message.

Earlier, on June 2, the second round of peace negotiations took place in Istanbul, which took place in the Palace of Chyragan. The parties reached an agreement on humanitarian issues, including the exchange of prisoners of war from among the wounded, seriously ill and persons under 25 years of age, as well as the transfer of more than 6 thousand bodies of the dead.

The first round of Istanbul peace negotiations between the Russian Federation and Ukraine took place on May 16 in the residence of Dolmabakhche.
