Russia’s International Reserves Exceeded $ 632 Billion

Russia’s international reserves for February increased by 1.87 % compared to the previous month – to $ 632.3 billion. This is evidenced by the data of the Bank of Russia.

According to the Central Bank, the international reserves of the Russian Federation increased by 1.87% compared to February 1, amounting to 632.3 billion dollars by standing on March 1.

International reserves are highly liquid foreign assets available to the Bank of Russia and the Government of the Russian Federation. They consist of assets in foreign currency, monetary gold and other reserve assets.

Due to the conflict in Ukraine, Western countries froze about half of the gold and foreign exchange reserves of the Bank of Russia.

The share of gold in the international reserves of the Bank of Russia in July 2024 increased to 29.8%, reaching the highest in February 2000.
