The former commander of the peacekeeping troops of the Russian Federation in Nagorno-Karabakh, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov positively appreciated the work of Russian peacekeepers in this region. He stated the TASS on this at a meeting with the participants of the All-Russian patriotic action “Watch of Heroes of the Fatherland” in Makhachkala.

It is noteworthy that the TASS agency calls Rustam Muradov former commander of the peacekeeping forces in Karabakh, noting that Major General Mikhail Kobokokov was appointed commander of the peacekeeping mission of Russia in the region.

“I evaluate the activities of the peacekeeping mission of Russia only positively. The assessment gives us a peaceful population. There is, of course, questions are very complex, but the process is going – the return of people, the solution of a number of problematic issues. Therefore, I think everything will be fine,” Muradov said .

He added that Russian peacekeepers will be located in the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh for five years after the conflict that occurred. “The first five years – by agreement signed by the heads of three states. Subsequently, a decision should be made to further extend the Russian peacekeeping contingent,” he added.
