The lawyer of the ex-President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili Shalva Khachapuridze appealed to the Tbilisi Court of Appeal the decision of the lower court of the lower instance on the refusal to release his client for health reasons.
“The judge did not share the arguments about the state of health of Saakashvili. He says that yes, he is seriously ill, but the execution of the punishment should not be delayed. These are the issues that we will appeal and demand from the Tbilisi Court of Appeal to cancel the decision of Judge Arevadze”, – said Khachapuridze to reporters after filing a complaint.
The judge of the Tbilisi City Court Georgy Arevadze on February 6 refused the petition for the liberation of the ex-president for health reasons. Hearing in this case was held since December 2022.
