Saakashvili Party loses in elections in Georgia

The Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia party ruling in Georgia is gaining 48.56% of the votes in local elections on proportional lists, at the opposition “Unified National Movement”, founded by the ex-president of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili, – 31.23% of the votes. This is evidenced by the data of the CEC after counting the votes with 38.63% of the plots.

According to the Central Election Commission, in third place is the party of Ex-Prime Minister Georgy Gaharia “For Georgia”, which has 6.87% of the vote.

As for the election of the mayor of Tbilisi, then after processing votes from 41.61% of the plots, the current head of the city of Kahak Kaladze is leading, gaining 45.5% of the votes. His main opponent, the chairman of the end of Niki Melia – 34.13%. In third place there is GAKharia from 8.97% of the votes. If none of the candidates are gaining more than 50% of the votes after counting the data from all areas, the second round of elections will be appointed in the capital with the participation of two main candidates.
