The former President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili spoke regarding the settlement of conflicts in the country, which are currently captured by Russian troops.
According to Georgia Online, on his page on Facebook, the ex-president wrote that in the near future, after the victory of Ukraine, Georgia will not only join the European Union, but will also be able to negotiate with people living today in the territories captured by Russia.
“With the departure of the Russian army, the Tskhinvalsky issue will be solved by itself – who should leave, will leave, and whoever remains, we have nothing to share with them,” he wrote.
According to him, Abkhazam should be proposed to create a Georgian-Abkhaz Federation with an administrative center in Kutaisi.
“The situation with Abkhazia is more difficult. Much more people live there than in Samachablo, and the degree of alienation is also higher. In my opinion, we must invite them to create a common Georgian-Abkhaz state, the Georgian-Abkhaz federation with an administrative center in Kutaisi. This state will have dual citizenship, which means that a citizen of Abkhazia will automatically be a citizen of Georgia, and a citizen of the rest of Georgia will not automatically be a citizen of Abkhazia. This will remove the fear of Abkhazov before assimilation. Both Georgian and Abkhazian will be official state languages. In Kutaisi, the parliament will be in Kutaisi. biaplane, and both subjects of the federation will have an equal representation in the upper house, ”he wrote.
At the same time, Saakashvili believes that the president of Abkhazia should always be the vice president of Georgia. In his opinion, the transition period (3-5 years) should be indicated during which the integration of the armed forces, customs and the border service will occur.

Will the Abkhazians go to this? – recent decades have shown well that Abkhazia has no chance of international recognition.
