Saakashvili supporters protest again 21 February

Supporters of the ex-president of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili hold protests in Tbilisi and Batumi. Personnel from protests broadcast local television channels.

In Tbilisi, the action began at the government building. It contains the leaders of the Opposition Party “Unified National Movement” (UND), founded by Saakashvili, as well as more than 100 supporters of the former president. Participants in the action demand to release Saakashvili for the treatment of a prison term. Currently, protesters headed towards the office of the ruling party “Georgian Dream – Democratic Georgia”, which is nearby.

Supporters of the former president also gathered in Batumi near the building of the Government of the Adjar Autonomous Republic. In both cities of any incidents, at the moment, it is not recorded.

Tbilisi City Court on February 6 rejected the petition of the ex-president for his release for health reasons. In the course of more than 10 meetings, doctors and experts acted as witnesses, including foreign ones, who declared many diseases developed in the former head of state.
