Saakashvili turned to Georgian authorities

Georgia in 2007, thanks to the efforts of the ex-president of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko, acquired from Kyiv the Buk missile systems at the lowest price, wrote on Facebook former President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili.

“It is a shame to refuse Ukraine to transfer the Buk system! With the help of President Yushchenko, we bought them at one time for the minimum price,” said the former Georgian leader.

He added that after the election of Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych against Yushchenko for the sale of these air defense systems opened a criminal case.

On Monday, the temporary attorney in the affairs of Ukraine in Georgia Andrei Kasyanov said that Ukraine asked Georgia to return the Buk complexes transferred to her in 2008, but the Georgian authorities refused the request.

In response to the Ministry of Defense of Georgia, it said that the republic did not receive Buk for free, but acquired them from Ukraine in 2007 under a multimillion -dollar classified contract.
