Chairman of the State Customs Committee, Colonel-General General Safar Mehtiev, held a meeting in online format with the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization Cunio Mikuria.
As reported by Haqqin.az in GTC, during the meeting, the current durable relationships were noted between the Customs Committee of Azerbaijan and the World Customs Organization, and the confidence was also expressed in the further development of cooperation and achieving new success as a result of joint activities.
S.Makhtyyev told about the successful activities of the State Committee, despite the difficulties caused by a pandemic, about projects based on information technologies, the development of international trade, steps taken in the fight against smuggling, especially illicit drug trafficking.
In turn, Kunio Mikura thanked the head of the State Coon of GTC for the professional activities of the State Committee during the leadership of them the most difficult and large European Region of the World Customs Organization, as well as for the effective organization of coordination between the customs authorities of the member countries.
At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on further steps to strengthen cooperation, as well as support for the development of international trade.
