Chairman of Milli Majlis Sahib Gafarov, as part of an official visit to Hungary, held a meeting with Hungary Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
Welcoming the Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Victor Orban thanked her for the official visit and said that the delegation arriving from Azerbaijan always special guests for the Hungarian people and the state. He then emphasized the importance of mutual visits and expressed confidence that this visit will contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.
According to him, Hungary attaches great importance to the development of relations with friendly Azerbaijan, and the current political, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the countries is moving on ascending.
It also came to the broad cooperation of Hungary and Azerbaijan in the energy sector. Victor Orban noted an indispensable role for his country, which Azerbaijan plays in providing energy security.
In turn, Sahib Gafarov expressed appreciation for the sincere reception and handed over to Viktor Orban the greetings of President Ilham Aliyev.
Sahib Gafarov expressed satisfaction with the first official visit to Hungary as Chairman of the Milli Majlis. According to her, Azerbaijan attaches great importance to the development of comprehensive cooperation with Hungary, one of the first independence recognized it. After the restoration of state independence, political relations between the two countries have reached a new level. Undoubtedly, a large role in achieving this level of our relations played personal relationships between the leaders of the two countries.
Speaker brought to the attention of Prime Minister Viktor Orban, that in 2020 Azerbaijan, overcoming the test of history, won a glorious victory in the 44-day Patriotic War and freed his lands from the occupation. Speaker on behalf of himself and Milli Majlis expressed appreciation to the Hungarian people and the state for a fair position in the period of the 44-day Patriotic War.
Sahib Gafarov reminded that after the liberation of land from the occupation in Karabakh, restoration and construction work began. However, Armenia prevents this work, does not give all the cards of mined territories, preventing the delimitation and demarcation of borders, making provocations, creating conditions for the penetration of terrorists on the territory liberated from the occupation.
