The chairman of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Sahiba Gafarov turned to international organizations in connection with a provocation committed by Armenia on the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.
The public relations department of the Milli Majlis reported that Sahiba Gafarova sent an appeal to the president and Secretary General of the Inter -Parliamentary Union, the European Parliament, the OSCE, the inter -parliamentary Assembly of the CIS, parliamentary assemblies of the organization of Islamic cooperation, the organization of economic cooperation, organization Black Sea Economic Cooperation and GUAM, as well as the Asian parliamentary assembly.
The appeal of the chairman of the Milli Majlis says that on September 12, 2022, Armenia committed another provocation against Azerbaijan. Namely: the Armed Forces of Armenia were positioned by the Azerbaijani army to intensively fire along the Azerbaijani-Armenian border in the direction of the Dashkensky, Kelbadzharsky and Lachinsky districts of Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani side took response. When suppressing the provocation, 50 Azerbaijani troops were killed.
The circulation notes that Armenia has not yet withdrawn its armed groups from Azerbaijan, continues to minute Azerbaijani territories, places heavy equipment and weapons in the region, fired at Azerbaijani positions along the entire border, thereby violating the points of a tripartite statement and reached agreements.
Further it is emphasized that against the background of Azerbaijan’s efforts to establish peace and stability in the Armenia region, resorting to various excuses, delays the normalization of relations, demonstrates a destructive position on the negotiations organized thanks to international efforts and, finally, prevents the opening of regional communications and transport routes. All this speaks of Armenia’s disinterest in the peaceful process and its intention to damage this process. Azerbaijan is busy with large -scale work to restore its lands freed from occupation and puts large investments into this. The return to these territories of former forced immigrants has already begun. Armenia, on its provocations, interferes with this process.
The appeal of the chairman of the Milli Majlis says that although Azerbaijan takes steps to stabilize the situation and eliminate tension, Armenia continues to violate the achieved ceasefire. The military-political leadership of Armenia is fully responsible for the committed provocation, confrontation and loss.
Azerbaijani side calls on the international community to condemn the steps of Armenia, directed against efforts to ensure peace and stability in the region, is emphasized in the appeal of Sahiba Gafarova.
