Salim Muslimov returned 20 million manat

The Baku Court of Court of Crime Courts continues the trial in the criminal case of the former Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the population Salim Muslimov, accused of excess of official powers and assigning 27 million manats of budget money, in bribery.

According to the Haqqin.az correspondent, during the process it turned out that the damage caused in a criminal case in the amount of 20 million manat was fully compensated. The judge said that 7 million out of 27 million manat specified in the indictment are associated with the episode of waste, which was instituted by a separate criminal case.

During the investigation, it was revealed that a number of employees of the ministry and leaders of companies that won the tenders mentioned in the case allowed illegal actions that led to the embezzle of state funds. That is, the remaining seven million should be paid precisely by them.

The judge said that the above persons have already returned 1 million manat, the process of payment of the remaining funds continues.

The court will continue on January 23.

Salim Muslimov was detained in February 2021 during a special operation conducted by the state security service. In relation to him, an arrest warrant was issued. Muslimov was released under house arrest in May 2022 for health reasons. The former minister is accused of bribery for 13 million manat and embezzlement of 14 million manat. The Ministry of Finance was recognized as a victim in a criminal case.
