Saudi Arabia is counting on a meeting with Iran despite disagreements

“Government of Saudi Arabia expect the fifth round of negotiations with the leadership of Iran, which, as previously reported, may pass in the near future in the capital of Iraq.” This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Prince Faisal Ben Forkhan Al Saud, speaking at the Munich Security Conference, reports TASS.

According to him, the kingdom expects to hold the fifth round of consultation with Iran, despite the lack of significant progress at the moment.

“We hope that the Iranian leadership has a real desire to find a new form of interaction. We are interested in the normalization of relations with Iran, and this is quite possible under the condition of fundamental changes in the region,” the diplomat indicated.

Recall that earlier January 28, Iran’s Ambassador to Iraq Iraj Masdjed stated that the fifth round of negotiations between Tehran and Er-Riyadh will be held soon in Baghdad.
