Saudi Arabia announced the provision of Yemen to the Government, headed by the President of the Presidential Council, Rashid Al-Alimi, financial assistance in the amount of about $ 368 million.

As the Foreign Ministry of Saudi Arabia reported, the funds will be allocated as part of the Yemen development program and aimed at supporting the country’s economic development. The total amount of assistance will be more than 1.38 billion ryalum (approximately $ 368 million).

The statement notes that the decision to provide funds was made at the direction of King Salman Ibn Abdulaziz and at the proposal of the hereditary prince Muhammad Ibn Salman, taking into account the difficult economic situation in Yemen. And it will become part of the support provided by Saudi Arabia to the Yemeni government. The funds will be aimed at healthcare, the state budget and the oil sector. From September 2014, the capital of Yemen, the bathroom and a number of other regions has been controlled by Husita supported by Iran. Since March 2015, the coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, has been assisting the Yemen government in the fight against the Hussites.

Yemen, one of the poorest countries of the world, suffers from a large-scale humanitarian crisis due to more than a decade civil war. According to the UN, more than 22 million of the 30 million people need humanitarian assistance and protection. The lack of pure water, malnutrition and lack of medications contribute to the spread of epidemics, including cholera.
