Scandal in Armenia: Armory Baron was released

Arms dealer David Galstyan (known as “Cartridge Davo”), by decision of the Armenian Court of Appeal, was released from custody. This information Sputnik Armenia confirmed the lawyer Galestin – Armen Harutyunyan.

“We appealed in the appellate court the decision of the court of first instance on the extension of the arrest of Galstin for two months. Judge of the Court of Appeal Sergey Marabhan today satisfied our petition. He is free,” said Arutyunyan.

It is noted that the businessman is accused of deliveries to the Ministry of Defense of Armenia of old and unsuitable artillery shells. According to the case of the case, he, by the Chairman of the Company’s Council registered abroad, according to a preliminary conspiracy with its director, in order to embarrass funds in particularly large sizes, concluded with the MO agreement on the supply of artillery shells for guns 1983-1986.

However, shells were delivered, which did not meet the requirements of the concluded contract, namely: old shells for Czech cannons of 1977.

Other cases on abuses with elements of corruption mechanisms in the Ministry of Defense are investigated into the National Assembly of Armenia. Shestyan himself does not recognize accusations in his address, stating that they are fabricated. Galstyan owns several companies that specialize in arms trade. It belongs to him, among others, NGO “Neutron”, which is engaged in assembling Kalashnikov machine guns in Yerevan.
