Students of the Silesian Medical University received an unexpected prescription prepared by the Commission for the Council of Mobbing, Sexual Use and Discrimination, as well as other actions in the Wednesday of students and teachers of the Higher Educational Institution.
In the document, among other things, students are recommended to hide tattoos, avoid wearing jewelry, high-heeled shoes, trousers with short pants. This story already intervened the university’s student self-government.
Rector of the university, in turn, explained that the document appeared in the depths of this commission itself, regardless of the University’s leadership. The Commission recommends students “appropriate” clothes and behavior in the ALMA MATER walls.
From the document submitted by the public with student self-government, it is necessary to look like a student of this university.
Give some items of this document, which caused a serious resonance not only at the university, but also in Polish society.
So, for example, girls are advised not to wear trousers with short pants, do not use intensive perfumery, blouses with a deep neckline, avoid wearing skirts above the middle of the thigh, and also not to go high heels.
Male students are recommended to be carefully combed – including wearing a neat beard. Girls advise to apply so-called softened makeup. The recommendations of the Commission on Counteracting Mobbing, Sexual Use and Discrimination published this document last Wednesday.
Students have already massively responded in social networks, arguing that it is the scandalous document that exposes their discrimination.
One of the customer writes: “I understand that the guilt for the possible rape of the student should be shifted to her, for too deep neckline. A very interesting approach. I always believed that wines for rape lying on the rapider, and not on the raped. .. ” Or another text: “That is, you actually come to the conclusion that you can’t keep your staff from rape / students otherwise than to organize wearing modest clothes. Shameful.” So there are opinions on the student profile of the university page.
– these recommendations are extremely absurd. If, we are students, and are adults, then everybody choose the form of clothing, “said one of the medical students in an interview with TVN24 channel.
The scandalous prescription caused such a big resonance that it was decided to meet students with members of the Commission and the University’s leadership.
Rector of the university Tomas Shchchapanski, for his part, tried to calm the protest, offering to solve disputes by dialogue.
