“Contracts for the supply of Russian natural gas provide for payment in dollars or euros.” This was announced on Thursday Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz at a press conference in Brussels following the results of the meeting of the leaders of “Big Seven”, reports TASS.
He noted that there are solid contracts everywhere, in which the currency indication in which the payment takes place is part of the contract.
“This is what should act. In most cases, euro or dollar are indicated there. These are the original items that we must repel,” the chancellor added.
He stated that Western countries feel the influence of conflict in Ukraine on energy prices and food.
