School and EU agreed on measures to reduce tension in north of Kosovo

The Kosovo government revealed the details of the agreement with the EU on the de -escalation of the situation in the north of the country, including the reduction in the presence of the police in four municipalities, mainly inhabited by the Serbs.

Protina reminded that the agreement was reached on July 10 in Bratislava following the meeting of the First Deputy Prime Minister Kosovo on European Integration, Development and Dialogue Bestnik Bislimimi and the special representative of the EU on the dialogue between Belgrade and Profinina Miroslav Laychak.

According to the agreement, the reduction of the contingent of the police by a quarter will be performed within two weeks.

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers that, as tension decreases in the north of the country, he expects the abolition of the restrictions introduced by the EU.
