Second day of NATO summit started in Vilnius

In Vilnius, the NATO summit continues with the participation of the heads of state and governments of NATO member countries.

Turkey at a meeting of the North Atlantic Council is represented by the head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The meeting contains leaders of 31 member countries, as well as Sweden, like a country invited to the Alliance.

In addition, the Summit is presented by NATO partners in the Indo-Pacific region: Japan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand, as well as the European Union (EU).

Speaking at the opening of discussions, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that NATO is a regional alliance in Europe and Atlantic, but the challenges facing him are global in nature.

According to him, what happened in the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific region is of great importance in terms of mutual influence. “The consequences of a global conflict in Ukraine entails, they do not know the boundaries of terrorism and cybehrose, authoritarian regimes are closer, the Secretary General said.

“We must communicate with the defense of the global order based on the rules. That is why it is so important to participate in the partners in today’s NATO summit,” the Secretary General emphasized.
