In Sian, the opening ceremony of the Central Asia -China secretariat was held, in which the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Alibek Bakaev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Sun Weidun and the ambassadors of Central Asia in the PRC took part, the press service reports Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Bakaev recalled that last year the first summit of the heads of the Central Asia -China state was held, during which the Sian Declaration was signed and an agreement was reached on the establishment of the secretariat. Given the historical relations of the countries of Central Asia and China, the city of Sian was chosen by the location of the headquarters of the secretariat, ”he said.
The Kazakhstan diplomat emphasized that the creation of a secretariat is a new area of close interaction and becomes a significant factor in regional policy.
