Senate of Uzbekistan approved an agreement on border demarcation with Kazakhstan

Senate Oliy Mazhlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Upper House of Parliament) approved the law on the ratification of the contract between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan on demarcation of the state border, the press service of the legislative body.

During the discussion, senators noted that Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan are the closest neighbors and time -tested strategic partners. In recent years, a new period of cooperation between the two countries has begun, relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian and other areas have been rapidly developing.

The document was signed by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Zhomart Tokaev on December 21, 2022.

According to the agreement, the length of the demarcated line of the state border between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan is over 2,356 km.

The contract has completely completed the work of determining the Uzbek-Kazakh state border and thereby created the most important prerequisites for ensuring its safety and immunity.

Undoubtedly, ratification of the contract serves the further strengthening and expansion of multifaceted relations of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
