North Korea launched several low -range ballistic missiles towards the Sea of Japan (East Sea), the military departments of South Korea and Japan reported.
As Yonhap reports with reference to the General Staff of the South Korean, launches were made from Vonsan district on the east coast of the DPRK in the period from 08.10 to 09.20 local time.
The missiles moved in the northeast direction, reached a height of about 100 km and overcame the distance of about 800 km before falling into the waters of the Sea of Japan.
The military of South Korea said that they were continuing to track the situation in close coordination with the United States and Japan. The General Staff of the Armed Forces emphasized that the monitoring of possible new launches from the DPRK is strengthened.
The Ministry of Defense of Japan confirmed the fact of launch, noting that all missiles fell outside the exclusive economic zone of the country.
