Serdar Berdimuhamedov: Important documents have been signed between Turkmenistan and Turkey

The President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdymuhamedov spoke at a joint press conference organized after a meeting with President Erdogan in the presidential complex in Ankara.

Berdimuhamedov said that he and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed the transportation of Turkmen natural gas and electricity to Turkey through the Caspian Sea.

Berdimuhamedov congratulated the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Turkish Republic: “As part of the visit, we held very effective negotiations with the president of the Turkish Republic in an atmosphere of friendship and understanding, discussed issues regarding various spheres of bilateral cooperation between our countries, and also exchanged opinions on important regional and international problems representing mutual interest. “

The President of Turkmenistan noted the willingness to develop and strengthen the strategic Turkmen-Turkish cooperation, based on the principles of friendship, respect and equality.

The Turkmen leader noted that in the course of negotiations, issues that occupy an important place in regional and international politics were discussed, and especially issues related to ensuring security and stability, improving the quality of international relations, and also emphasized the importance of increasing bilateral trade volumes.

“In this context, President Erdogan and I discussed issues of transportation of Turkmen natural gas and electricity to Turkey through the Caspian Sea. We confirmed that the deepening of close cooperation in the transit sphere is important for the development of trade between the two countries. In this context, we said that in mutual interests the creation of new directions of existing transport corridors, especially in increasing the effectiveness of the Caspian and Black Sea corridors. “

Berdimuhamedov noted that an agreement was reached on the necessary measures to ensure more efficient joint work in the transport sector, and at the same time, issues related to the development of cooperation in various fields of industry were evaluated.

According to him, as a result of negotiations between Turkmenistan and Turkey, important documents have been signed that will contribute to the development of cooperation in the political, trade and economic areas.
