Mendik Tepe was discovered by an archaeological group under the leadership of Fatma Shakhina. He is located in the area of Pamaly on the site of the ancient settlement of Chakmak-Tepe. Excavations were started in 2024 under the leadership of Professor Douglas Bard, a teacher of the Department of Archeology of Liverpool University.
