On January 18, the press service of the President said that Sargsyan after the completion of the working visit to the United Arab Emirates went to the short-term vacation for the passage of the necessary medical examination. The return of the president from vacation was not reported. In the Armenian Parliament, on Sunday evening, they were informed that the President of the Republic of Resignation was received, which would take effect if Sargsyan did not change his mind during the upcoming seven days. Extraordinary elections of the President of Armenia, in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic, may be held in mid-February. The President of the Republic will elect deputies of the National Assembly. President of Armenia is elected for a period of seven years.
