Shoigu Discussed Situation Around Ukraine With DPRK Leader

Secretary of the Security Council (SB) of Russia Sergey Shoigu met with the leader of the DPRK Kim Jong -un. This was reported by the press service of the Council of People’s Commissars of the Russian Federation.

According to the report, on June 4, Shoigu, on behalf of the President of Russia, arrived in Pyongyang on a working visit for negotiations with the chairman of the state affairs of the Korean People’s Democratic Republic Kim Jong-un.

“During the meeting, a detailed dialogue was held on a wide range of problems of the international agenda, including the situation around Ukraine, and the prospects for the development of bilateral relations between Russia and the DPRK in the spirit of a signed agreement on a comprehensive strategic partnership. The parties paid special attention to the discussion of the issues contained in the previously directed message from the Russian President,” the head of the DPRK, – follows from the message.

“, in the context of a significant contribution of military personnel of the Korean People’s Army to the liberation of the Kursk region from the Ukrainian occupation, specific steps were considered to perpetuate the memory of the feat of Korean warriors. Sergey Shoigu and Kim Jong -un also discussed the prospects for the restoration of the Kursk region, the press service noted.

Meanwhile, the Russian Embassy in the DPRK reported that during the conversation, “which was held in the atmosphere of friendly mutual understanding, the issues of cooperation in various fields were discussed, an exchange of views on the situation around the Ukrainian crisis and on the Korean peninsula”

The previous time the Secretary of the SB of the Russian Federation made a visit to the DPRK on March 21. Then he also met with the North Korean leader.
