Shoigu refutes Tokayeva: troops will leave after stabilization

The decision of Kazakhstan on the withdrawal of the military contingent of the Collective Security Treaty Organization is the prerogative of the Republic, Russia will not interfere. This was stated on Tuesday journalists Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Sadkov.

“This is entirely the prerogative of the country that appealed to the CSTO with this request. This is their analysis, and we have no right to interfere with it,” said the Kremlin representative.

Note that earlier on Tuesday, President Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev said that the conclusion of the CSTO peacekeeping contingent from the country will begin two days later and will take no more than 10 days.

At the same time, the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation Sergei Shoigu stated today that the Military CSTOs will be derived from Kazakhstan after complete stabilization of the situation in this country. “The tasks of collective peacekeeping forces will be carried out until complete stabilization of the situation in the Republic of Kazakhstan, naturally, by decision of the leadership of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” said the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. Now, according to Shoigu, the CSTO forces protect important military, state and socially significant objects of Kazakhstan.
