Shoigu: There are no plans for additional mobilization in General Staff

The General Staff of the Armed Forces (Sun) of the Russian Federation does not plan to announce additional mobilization. This was announced by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at a thematic selector meeting with the leading composition of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

“There are no plans for additional mobilization in the General Staff. The armed forces have the necessary number of military personnel to conduct a” special military operation. “This is largely facilitated by the firm patriotic position of our citizens who actively replenish the ranks of the defenders of the Fatherland,” said the head of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

According to him, since the beginning of this year, more than 335 thousand people entered the military service under the contract and volunteer formations. Only in September, more than 50 thousand people signed the contract, he noted.

Shoigu pointed out that all conscripts, including from the “new regions”, called up as part of the current autumn call, will not be sent to the war zone.

Speaking about the work of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Karabakh, Shoigu said that with the assistance of the Russian military on the territory of Armenia, more than 98 thousand civilians were evacuated, including 32 thousand children.
