Sholts: Millions of Ukrainians flee

The situation in Ukraine provoked the largest migration wave in Europe since the end of World War II.

This was stated by the Chancellor of Germany Olaf Sholts, speaking in the Bundestag with a government statement on the agenda of the upcoming EU summit.

“Millions of Ukrainians are fleeing. Four million found refuge in the EU, this is the largest migration flow on our continent since the end of World War II,” said Scholz.

He recalled that more than 1 million Ukrainian refugees arrived in Germany only.

The Chancellor also said that the total assistance of Germany in Ukraine in 2022 in monetary terms amounted to about 12 billion euros.
