SOCAR will build LNG on Black Sea

SOCAR and Romanian Romgaz agreed to jointly develop a project for the construction of a plant for the production of liquefied natural gas (LNG) on the Black Sea, foreign media write.

The Ceremony was attended by the Minister of Economics of Azerbaijan Mikail Dzhabbarov, Minister of Energy Parviz Shakhbazov, as well as the Prime Minister of Romania Nikolai Chuke and the Minister of Energy of Romania Virzhil Popescu.

“Today we lay the foundations of the new corridor for the transportation of energy between the Caspian and Black Seas. Thus, Romania becomes an important point, an important knot, energy hub for both electricity and natural gas,” Popeska said at the ceremony.
