Social Network Snapchat Is Blocked In Russia

In Russia, access to the Snapchat application is blocked due to the commission of crimes using it.

In a statement, the Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technologies and Mass Communications (Roskomnadzor) assessed the problems with access to Snapchat observed since October.

The statement claims that crimes are being committed through the application: “Snapchat is used to organize and conduct terrorist activities in the country, hire criminals and commit fraud and other crimes against our citizens.”

According to this information, access to the application was blocked for the specified reason.

Roskomnadzor blocked access to the FaceTime application on December 4 for the same reason. Previously, access to social networks such as Facebook, X, TikTok, YouTube and Instagram was blocked in the country.
