“Sold Russia”: former football player of USSR national team accuses UEFA and FIFA

FIFA and UEFA “sold to Russia”. So the former player of the national team of the USSR, Kyiv and Moscow Dynamo Yozhef Sabo commented on a message about the possible conduct of the international tournament under the auspices of UEFA in Volgograd.

“I absolutely do not like the position of FIFA and UEFA. At the head of these organizations, people who sold Russia for money are sitting at the head of these organizations. UEFA does everything in their own way. A little time will pass, and UEFA and FIFA will generally allow Russian clubs and the national team to participate in them tournaments … They sold the World Cup to Russia and Qatar … “, – quotes Sabo Israeli Channel 9

Earlier it became known that in May 2023, the International UEFA Development Tournament for Youth Teams is planned in Volgograd. The agreements on the tournament were reached with UEFA a few months ago, the Rosia media wrote.

After the Russian Federation’s invasion of Ukraine, Russian clubs were banned from performing in European competitions. The national team is forbidden to play in matches under the auspices of UEFA.

Earlier in Russia they said that they could leave UEFA and go to the Asian Confederation of Football. The transition to the Asian Confederation will theoretically allow the Russians to play in the Asian Champions League and get into the final part of the world championships through the qualifying tournament in Asia. Many experts believe that the transition to the Asian Confederation will significantly lower the level of Russian football.
