Son of ex-prime minister of Georgia was sentenced to three years

Tbilisi City Court found Bessarion Zhvania, son of ex-Prime Minister of Georgia Zurab Zhvania, guilty of causing grievous bodily harm and sentenced him to 3 years in prison. He will spend a year and a half of them in prison, Sputnik Georgia reports.

The court found Bessarion Zhvania guilty of causing grievous bodily harm to the grandson of the ex-deputy of the Georgian parliament, businessman Gogi Topadze, Levan Topadze. By a court decision, after leaving prison, Zhvania will serve a suspended sentence for another year and a half.

Zhvania was detained in August 2020 for attempted murder of Levan Topadze. However, later the charge was re-qualified and he was tried only for harm to health.
