Sony Music redeemed half catalog of Michael Jackson’s songs for $ 600 million

The American recording and musical company Sony Music acquired half the catalog of the songs of the famous singer Michael Jackson for $ 600 million.

According to BBC, this is the largest transaction that ever concluded by assets of the music artist.

The agreement also includes several songs by Ray Charles, Elvis Presley and Arieta Franklin, which were acquired by Jackson Mijac.

The cost of Jackson’s musical catalog, which includes all his songs, is more than $ 1.2 billion.

In 2021, the American rock performer Bruce Springstin agreed to sell the rights to the entire catalog of his songs of Sony Music for $ 500 million. Then it was noted that this is a record amount of the transaction in the musical industry.
