Spain And Türkiye Tied In Final Round Of Qualifying For 2026 World Cup

The Turkish national team drew 2:2 with Spain in the away match of the final, 6th round of Group E of the European qualification for the 2026 World Cup and took second place in the quartet.

The match took place at the La Cartuja stadium in Seville. Spain, which had already guaranteed itself a direct ticket to the World Cup, equalized the score twice during the match, but could not beat the Turkish team.

Spanish midfielder Dani Olmo opened the scoring in the match in the fourth minute. Visiting striker Deniz Gul scored a goal in the 42nd minute. In the second half, midfielder Salih Ozcan gave Turkey the lead in the 54th minute. Home team striker Mikel Oyarzabal equalized the score in the 62nd minute.

After six matches, Turkey has 13 points and is in second place in Group E. Spain has 16 points from six matches and is in first place. Thanks to this result, Spain qualified for the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico.
